My iPhone 5c is currently running IOS 8.1 This morning I woke up and saw a new update to IOS 8.11 Anyone know anything about this update and if it fixes any Voice Over bugs?

If I were you, I'd grab this update. Some of the voiceover bugs that have been fixed are the screen following the voiceover cursor and caller id is announced. There may be a few others, but I can't think of them right now.

Good to hear. I never had a problem with the caller ID not being read when a call came in. Even if I switched the silent switch Vo will still speak the caller ID,and just the ringer is silent. I'll install it thanks.

Yes, I was happy to get this update as well. I don't have an iPhone, (only an iPod Touch 5G, but it's much more responsive now, and VO doesn't crash nearly as much.

the bug with the caller ID also would not tell you who was calling when you had an incoming call while already on a call, so I'm glad to see that both of those things are fixed.
some people had argued with me about that not actually being the case, so it's nice to see more people who experienced that same issue.

The reason these people argued was that is wasn't the case for all users.
For whatever reason, and the actual device you are using, it worked, or didn't.
This is true with all bugts with Apple it seems.
In my case, I happened to not want it to announce either on a call, or generally. I feel it is a privacy issue when I'm sitting with someone and my telephone rings. I like to have who's calling me personal. When the phone beeped, and I was expecting a call, I could simply touch the screen and it would tell me.
When I'm on the line with someone, unless I'm expecting an important call, I won't hang up and leave them until our conversation is over, and if I need to put them on hold, I won't do it for more than a few seconds.

I'm stil running IOS 7.1.2, or whatever the last version of 7 was. Does 8.1.1 fix enough of the issues that I won't regret upgrading? I've heard so many horror stories about IOS 8 so I've been hesitant.

It's good.

I'm a new iPhone user so cann't compare IOS 7 and 8 directly. However, IOS 8.11 is working pretty smoothly for me.

The main fix for me was the voiceover focus on screen. Good update

VoiceOver still has focus issues, but I'd still say that it's worth updating.

from what I see (and i'm only a week into using an iPhone never having touched a touch screen before), it seems very stable to me.

No OS or update is going to please all the people or be perfect. But this one is good.
